Hard Hill Road Close Planted Shiraz
Wine
ATR Wines Hard Hill Road Close Planted Shiraz is grown in the most densely planted blocks of the Hard Hill Road Vineyard in the Grampians. Less than one metre separates each vine.
The fruit ferments in small batches, mostly as whole bunches and whole berries. Natural yeast begins the ferment, then inoculated yeast is added after one week. The fermenters are sealed for one month of skin contact.
After gentle pressing, the wine matures in a mixture of French and American oak puncheons for 18 months.
Deep purple, ATR Wines Hard Hill Road Close Planted Shiraz has a tightly woven fabric of intense dark fruit and savoury notes atop a fine tannin backbone. Cellaring potential is 20 years.
